North Florida Women’s Physicians Gynecology

Gynecologic Care

To match our philosophy of excellence in all women’s care, we have developed a system to keep you surrounded by the best medical team possible. Your primary physician and his or her nursing staff will see you for most, if not all, of your appointments. We also offer the services of a Physician’s Assistant and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Midwives for annual exams and other well-woman care.

In the event of surgery, your care will be directed by your own primary physician, and you will have another physician in our practice available to you 24 hours a day on call, should you need assistance related to your surgery.

If your first appointment is for a routine annual exam, your primary provider’s nurse will record your medical history, previous obstetric history and generally introduce you to our practice. Your provider will review your medical and family history and perform a complete physical examination, which may include a urinalysis, Pap smear, and any other tests indicated. Information about nutrition, exercise, personal care, weight management and preventative health will be discussed. You will have ample time with your provider to ask questions and discuss any concerns you may have. During this visit you may be asked to stop by the lab to have blood drawn for routine tests. If you have an emergent problem and your primary provider is not available to see you, you may be seen by another provider in our group. We assure you that one of us is always available and ready to assist you.
